Preparing for science careers?

Join us as we assist in expanding your professional skills leading to fulfilling science careers. Graduate students and postdocs interact and develop skills in:

• science communication
• entrepreneurship
• teaching and mentoring skills
• laboratory management skills

The four day course will broaden the learner’s training opportunities. The modules provide morning lectures and evening case studies. The mid-day is available to meet with faculty, maintain personal office hours and explore Acadia National Park.

Visiting attendees should plan on arriving on the afternoon or evening of Monday, May 26 and departing on the afternoon of Friday, May 30th, or morning of Saturday, May 31st. The course will begin on the morning of Tuesday, May 27th and will run thru lunch on Friday, May 30th.

Registration Fee:  $500.00

Registration fee includes course materials, meals and shared lodging at the Highseas Conference Center for course dates.

Lodging accommodations will be at Highseas Conference Center, a Georgian style mansion built in 1912. Highseas is perched on the cliffs overlooking the entrance to Frenchman Bay and is surrounded by beautiful Acadia National Park. This is casual, dormitory-style housing consisting of shared bedrooms and bathrooms (minimum double occupancy, some triple and quad rooms). Wireless internet access is provided throughout the building. Laundry facilities are available on site. Transportation will be provided from the conference center to the course venue for the duration of the workshop. Highseas cannot accommodate families, please contact the event planner for information about off-campus lodging alternatives.  Participants are responsible for all travel booking, including airport transportation.
