Workshop on Surgical Techniques in the Laboratory Mouse

This five-day intensive hands-on workshop is for those wishing to obtain practical training in surgical techniques for the laboratory mouse. A wide range of surgical procedures is taught and students are encouraged to submit requests for specific procedures. In addition to surgical procedures, topics covered include aseptic surgical technique, injection techniques and submandibular blood collection.

This workshop can be used for continuing education units for AALAS recertification.

Lodging accommodations will be at Highseas Conference Center, a spacious mansion built in 1912, overlooking the entrance to Frenchman Bay and adjacent to beautiful Acadia National Park. The registration fee includes lodging (minimum double occupancy) from November 10 - 16, 2013. Transportation will be provided from the conference center to the course venue for the duration of the course. Highseas cannot accommodate families, please contact the meeting planner for information about off-campus lodging alternatives.
