This course provides training in the theory and practice of maintaining mouse colonies for production and research. This program is designed for scientists, colony managers, animal care technicians and students requiring an understanding of issues relating to the management of animal research and production colonies.

Placement is limited to 40 attendees, so early registration is advised.

Lodging at Highseas Conference Center is included in the registration fee. Highseas is a spacious mansion perched on the cliffs overlooking the entrance to Frenchman's Bay and offers casual dormitory-style housing with shared bedrooms and bathrooms. Highseas cannot accomodate families, offsite lodging opportunities can be found at the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
Travel
Air
Bar Harbor is served by two airports:
- Hancock County/Bar Harbor Airport (BHB)
- Bangor Airport (BGR)
New visa rules by the U.S. State Department now in effect beginning in August 2008, visitors traveling to the U.S. from visa waiver countries (i.e. Europe, Japan, Australia, etc.) will have to register online 3 days in advance of travel.
Car
Bar Harbor is approximately 6 hours by car from the greater Boston area.
