Special Symposium on the Care and Use of Laboratory Mice in Translational Research

Scope/Topic

Oct 28, 2009 - Oct 28, 2009 University of Pennsylvania Biomedical Research Building

Join us for this one day Special Symposium on the Care and Use of Laboratory Mice in Translational Research.

Topics will include:

  • basic mouse genetics
  • strain nomenclature
  • background genetic effects on phenotype
  • maintaining colony health
  • cryopreservation of mouse germplasm
  • resources for the mouse biologist

Afternoon lectures will be more advanced, focusing on modeling human disease in mice.

This program is designed for veterinarians, veterinary technologists, students and established researchers interested in issues surrounding the maintenance, care and use of mouse models for human disease.
